Project: Kaguyahime (Moon Princess)

I do not read Japanese but my best guess is that this project was called Kaguyahime which translates to the Moon Princess. It makes reference to the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.

The Kaguyahime project from Hannan University, made a flight attempt in 2002 during the 26th annual Tokyo Birdam Rally. There is a page on the project on the University's website. Professor Otsuki was the project leader. The photos show a running launch method which would not be in accordance with the Sikorsky Prize rules.
