Dragonfly X-391

The Dragonfly project was a student project at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The faculty advisor was Professor Eric Loth. The design for the X-391 Dragonfly was outlined in an article published in 1995 in the journal of the IHPVA. I don't know if it is still active. Production was started (see below) but I don't know how far it got and if an attempt at flight was ever made. If you have any information about this project, please contact me.

2006-07-19: Andrew Cary was a student member of the Dragonfly team until 1993. Quote: "As far as the Dragonfly, there were some construction issues in that the spar came out significantly over-weight and the team that was left did not have the expertise on how to fix/redo it. (...) As I recall, the configuration was slightly different (Compared to the IHPVA article. Ed.) in that the non-propeller blades were a bit shorter, but that is trusting my memory quite a bit."

2006-08-01: I got an email from Professor Loth. Work on the project has stopped. I hope to get some more info and post it here.
